TESTING & REPAIRS

GTC is globally recognized amongst Operators as being a high quality Repair Facility for GE Mark Systems.

With an official record of less than 1% in Warranty Returns, from equipment functions and field operations, to component levels of circuit boards, GTC has the expertise to keep your plant running. Operating for over 20 years, having completed over 7,000 repairs for numerous clients spanning from GE Turbine and Excitation to LCI Controls, GTC is the most experienced Repair Facility (outside of the OEM), which makes us a reliable and trusted partner to repair your parts.

GTC IMPROVED PARTS

GTC Mark V TCPS
We offer clients the choice to use newer, upgraded Power Supply Cards which offers better power distribution and stability for your panel. The noise projected by the OEM TCPS card is no longer a feature with our new (aftermarket) GTC-TCPS card. Ask your GTC Sales Representative for specific details and data.

GTC Mark V PTBA
The OEM says your equipment is “obsolete” – GTC calls it “Classic”, with the ability to operate safely and reliably for as long as you need. We developed a direct replacement that consists of the same fit, form and function as the original, but with the added benefit of upgraded components. We offer clients both options to buy the original OEM or the GTC direct replacement. Ask your GTC Sales Representative for specific details and data.

GTC REMANUFACTURING

Where possible, GTC offers a choice to End Users of Unused or Remanufactured parts. However, we highly recommend to our customers the Remanufactured condition for its renewed lease of life. Having new components installed on an original board, replacing original components that may have decayed over time with upgraded new parts, strengthens its quality and reliability. A numerous amount of Remanufactured cards have been sold and serviced by GTC, our experience being second to none, with regular clientele spanning across 90 countries.

TRAINING

GTC offers various training programs for Operators and Engineers at any technical level. Onsite or offsite classroom based training is available for all systems. We use our portable emulators for MKV, MKVI and MKVIe specific controls, which incorporates site data. For more information, click here.

LONGEVITY™ PROGRAM

GTC’s Longevity™ Program provides the End User with stability and reassurance that they can continue to use their systems which has been obsoleted by the OEM. GTC considers any control obsoleted by the OEM as a current system, or as we like to describe it, a “Classic” system which we support through our vast inventory, system knowledge and Field Engineer experience.
Whether you are deciding between keeping your existing controls, upgrading, or your plant has limited life operation time which does not permit desired upgrading, we can provide a custom solution for you. This can reduce substantial investment in capital expenditures from a few years, to 20.

ASSET RECOVERY

GTC continuously buys surplus and disused GE Turbine and Excitation controls, as well as faulty cards. We invest in excess of over 2 million USD annually to keep inventory available to Operators who can no longer buy from the OEM or choose not to buy from them. With the many hours we put into each and every part we purchase to remanufacture and test, buyers are always guaranteed to receive the highest quality parts which are considered to function as good as, or in some cases, better than new, as improved components are used where possible.

GE ceased support of these systems to pressure users into an expensive upgrade. Fortunately, GTC has a full stock of new, old, and remanufactured cards and parts available 24/7.

  • All cards and spare parts come with a 12 to 36-month warranty, and we offer our customers an optional exchange program
  • Repairs completed in our in-house, state-of-the-art facility are functionally tested to ensure reliability
  • Field services, including troubleshooting and commissioning are available


GTC also seeks out surplus panels, core upgrades and unwanted spares as part of our Asset Recovery service, helping us to keep costs low.

GE has been the top name in turbine control systems since the 1960’s. Known for their reliability and low failure rate, many early units are still in use in more than half a century after entering the market despite GE no longer supporting them.

To ensure these classic systems remain in operation, GTC offers support for all generations Mark I, Mark II, Mark III, Mark IV, Mark V, Mark Ve, Mark VI and Mark VIe controls.

Our Mark components carry a 24-month warranty and may be eligible for our EXTEND™ warranty program. The remanufactured products carry a 36-month warranty.

Our large inventory includes a wide selection of Unused and Remanufactured spares for GE’s EX2000, EX2100 and EX2100e Excitation Systems, each carrying a 12 to 36-month warranty.

GE’s Digital Generator Protection (DGP) provides monitoring, control and other functions for AC generators and is preferred by many customers thanks to its dependability and security. GE discontinued the DGP in 2010, however, GTC retains an extensive inventory of DGP parts for the benefit of our customers.

Innovation, LS2100 and LS2100e (similar to Excitation controls)

GE has supplied Brushless Excitation Systems for aero-derivative, frame gas, and steam turbines for more than 35 years. Many prefer Brushless Systems because they eliminate brush maintenance and self-exciting PMG-sourced systems; however, aging analog voltage regulators continue to exhibit the operational reliability and parts availability issues, common in vintage systems. 

Many also have the capability to add the PSS functions being driven in today’s changing regulatory environment.

GTC allows customers who prefer Brushless Excitation Systems to continue to utilize them longer. We use energized panels for functional testing for added reliability.
